How do I setup the Märzhäuser SCD control unit to work with SmartCapture?

Answer

The Märzhäuser SCD control unit may due to electrical interference or other situations need it's internal settings reset to values compatible with SmartCapture.

The easiest way to restablish the correct settings is to restore the SCD control unit to its factory settings and then reset the X-axis direction to be negative.

1. Remove the power connector from the back of the SCD control box.
2. Hold down the left most button ⊙ (a circle with a dot in the middle) and the right most button ✔ (a tick) whilst reconnecting the power. The display should light up and briefly display "Reset !".
3. Release all buttons.
4. Press the ⊙ key to access the settings menu.
5. Press the ⬆ (up arrow) or ⬇(down arrow) keys to navigate to the menu item "Counting Dir. X".
6. Press the ✔ to select "Counting Dir. X".
7. press the ⬆ to change the settings from "[+] Positive" to "[-] Negative".
8. Press ✔ to accept the setting and return to the menu.
9. Press ⊙ to finish.
